Being able to speak well in front of the public is a skill available to everyone. Communication skills and activities are built into every project. Doing a demonstration for fellow club members and participating in project interview judging provides an excellent opportunity to practice public speaking in a comfortable, safe setting. Members are also encouraged to expand their abilities by presenting to outside groups. Public speaking is a skill that will benefit you throughout your life. Ohio 4-H offers projects (listed in the Family Guide) and communications events at the state fair. Go to ohio4h.org/ohiostatefair for more information.
The following public speaking opportunities are available to all Tuscarawas County 4-H'ers interested in enhancing their public speaking skills.
Note: Subject matter of presentations need to be considerate of the audience and small children.
All events held June 17 at Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia beginning at 6:30 PM. All entries due by 4 PM June 15.
