OHIO 4-H ACHIEVEMENT AWARD work night
Tuesday, November 5, 2024
Extension Office Meeting Room
5:00-6:30 PM
Calling all teens! Are you interested in completing your Ohio 4-H Achievement Record to compete for state achievement awards, scholarships, and other state opportunities? Come to this work night to get started or tweak the one you've already been working on!
We will be hosting a work night on Tuesday, November 5. During this session, Chris will work with participants to better understand the following:
- What is the Ohio 4-H Achievement Award Form?
- What criteria are used in judging award applicatons?
- How do I keep track of all my activities and projects?
- What can I do to catch the judge's attention?
- Is the way in which I word my activities really all that important?
- When I'm all done, what do I need to hand in?
- What are the different awards levels and how do I advance?
If this sounds like a meeting that may help you, be sure to attend. As you prepare materials, invite your parent(s) and your club advisors, if you like; they may be assisting you as you complete your application. Bring any records that you have compiled or past applications that have been submitted. We'll see what we can do to get you started in the right direction.
Although this meeting is geared toward older youth, it's never too early to start keeping track of your 4-H achievements! Members of any age and their parent/guardian are welcome!
Click here for the My 4-H Career Record Book. This will be available at the work night. Members (and parents!) can use this form to keep a record of your 4-H career, and keeping records in this book will make application for awards and scholarships easy!
The Teen Leadership Council will also be hosting an Achievement Form Workshop for 4-H members statewide this fall - October 20 (registration due by October 17). Details and registration information for this workshop can be found at go.osu.edu/TLC.
