  2. Agronomy Update

    The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension will sponsor an agronomy update on Friday, March 15. The meeting will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Village of Tuscarawas Community Center, 222 E. Cherry Street, Tuscarawas.

    Dr. Mark Sulc, Ohio State University Extension Forage Specialist, will discuss low lignin alfalfa and tips for managing compaction in alfalfa fields. Libby Dayton, Ohio State University Research Scientist, will discuss the Ohio Phosphorus Index Tool and water quality.

  3. County Food and Fashion Board Bi-Annual Fundraiser Underway

    The Tuscarawas County 4-H Food and Fashion Board is selling shirts for their bi-annual fundraiser. Two designs are available, as well as several shirt types from which to choose. Clubs have the option of including club name on shirts.

    Payment is required when order is placed. Shirts can be seen at the Extension office. Contact Chris Kendle with any questions.

  4. Explore 4-H Night!

    The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension is hosting an “Explore 4-H Night” on Monday, March 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Clover Café on the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. The event is free and open to the public.

  5. Afternoon Agronomy Update

    An Afternoon Agronomy Update sponsored by Ohio State University Extension will be held Friday, January 18 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The program will be held at the Community Center in the Village of Tuscarawas (212 E. Cherry Street).

  6. Farm Tax Update Scheduled

    Jan. 10, 2019

    Ohio State University Extension in Tuscarawas County will hold a Farm Tax Update on Thursday, January 17 at the Extension office (419 16th Street SW in New Philadelphia) beginning at 1:00 p.m. David Marrison, OSU Extension Educator, Coshocton County, will discuss how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 will impact agriculture. Discussion about changes to Like-Kind Exchanges, depreciation, Qualified Business Income, and more will be provided.

    Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling 330-339-2337 no later than January 16.

    2018 is the second year for the Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences eFields "Connecting Science to Fields" On-Farm Research Project. eFields is an Ohio State University program dedicated to advancing production agriculture through the use of field-scale research.

  9. Tuscarawas County 4-H Awarded $600 from National Raise Your Hand Initiative

    Tuscarawas County youth programs are benefiting from Ohio’s recent victory in the national 4-H Raise Your Hand competition.

    As one of 35 counties with the highest participation, Tuscarawas County received $600 to use for youth programs.

  10. Flood Damage to County Office

    The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension had more than 11 inches of water in the conference room and storage area. There was substantial damage to program materials, files, and equipment. While the office will be open, we are focusing our efforts on clean up. We appreciate your patience. We thank everyone who has aided in the cleaning and disposal efforts.
