Water Test Kits Available Through Ohio State University Extension

Leasing land for oil and gas drilling has created an increased interest and concern about water quality issues at and near drilling sites.

While it's a good practice to sample and test your well water on a regular basis, the recent increase in leasing land for oil and gas drilling has created an increased interest and concern about water quality issues at and near drilling sites.

The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension has available water test kits for homeowners to use. These kits are provided by Penn State University Extension and include sample bottles and detailed instructions for taking a water sample. There is no cost to obtain the water sampling kit; however, there is a $65 charge payable directly to the lab to have a sample analyzed.

To obtain a water sample test kit or to discuss questions you may have about the oil and gas drilling, leasing, or other related topics, please contact us.
