Steer Weigh-In Set for 2010 Junior Fair
The 2010 Tuscarawas County 4-H and FFA Junior Fair steer weigh-in will be held December 12, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Show Arena on the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. Members must have their steers weighed in at that time to be eligible to show at the 2010 Tuscarawas County Fair.
All steers must be castrated and de-horned before weigh-in. Steers must also have a halter on and be halter broke. Any steers that do not have a halter on them in the trailer and when they are taken through the scales will be dismissed.
In case of bad weather, participants should listen to either WJER or WTUZ for more information.
Nose printing of steers is required for Junior Fair steers exhibited at the Ohio State Fair. Cards will be available the day of weigh-in or can be picked up at the Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension. The nose print cards must be delivered by January 4, 2010, to OSU Extension Tuscarawas County, 419 16th Street SW, New Philadelphia to be eligible to show at the state fair.
